The instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is adding additional features to improve the user experience.
According to the most recent news from the company, users will soon be able to add a description to forwarded files on Android handsets.
This feature benefits users by eliminating the need to explain things repeatedly.
The recipient can read the caption and understand why the material was forwarded. WhatsApp beta v2.23.8.22 adds the option to provide custom descriptions to transferred files and media.
Users will reportedly be able to remove WhatsApp’s auto-generated file description and replace it with their own wording as a description for transferred files.
While this WhatsApp custom description function works similarly to file captions, the new description will be delivered to the receiver as a separate message with its own description, who will receive the documents, photos, videos, or other file types.
This will also assist the recipient in understanding that it is not part of the original message.
Allowing additional descriptions to be added to the forwarded message will improve understanding of the delivered media file.
According to reports, the feature is enabled by default when you install the most recent WhatsApp beta.
This serves the same objective as not having to repeat information to each receiver. This new function is apparently being gradually rolled out to beta users and is available via the Google Play Store.
