Technology giant, Apple unveiled a new iPhone feature at WWDC 2023 that warns users against unwanted nude pictures.
Along with several other security features, Apple is releasing Sensitive Content Warnings to let you know when you receive photos or videos that adult users don’t want to see.
The feature appears to be specifically designed for nude photos and videos, according to a screen shot Apple shared in a blog post.
If you receive nude photos, you will see a popup asking if you would like to see this sensitive content. Providing users with nude photos unsolicited prevents them from seeing anything they didn’t consent to.
“Naked photos and videos show the private body parts that are usually covered by underwear or bathing suits,” the pop-up explains.
The user has three options for her. In addition to enabling or disabling images or videos, you can tap How to get help.
Apple doesn’t say if this feature is on by default or if it can be turned off, but these security tools can usually be turned on and off.
