Tesla Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk has fired top executives of the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter.
This development came after his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter on Thursday.
Reports revealed that Musk has fired Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and general counsel Sean Edgett.
Also removed was Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s longtime head of legal, policy and trust.
It would be recalled that former CEO Jack Dorsey had put Gadde in charge of major user account decisions like the one to permanently ban former President Trump (his account remains suspended as of this writing).
The firings follow news that Musk planned to eliminate nearly 75% of Twitter’s staff in an effort to pay down the company’s debt. Musk later dismissed those reports, telling employees he would not cut such a large portion of the staff.
