Health startup, 54gene Inc has named Ron Chiarello as it’s new Chief Executive Officer as the startup restructures for better partnerships l across board.
The company also named, Tobi Oke, Managing Partner of V8 Capital Partners, as one of its board of directors.
Ron Chiarello is coming to 54gene with experience after serving as co-CEO of the company since earlier this year.
He also founded Jetalon Solutions, Etalon Technologies, and Orion Metrology, and held research positions at Stanford University and Argonne National Laboratory, while Tobi Oke, joins the board with experience running a venture firm and experience as head of Intel Capital (Africa) and leadership roles with Standard Chartered Private Equity, HSBC, and Booz Allen.
According to Technext, Teresia Bost, who served as interim CEO since 2022 will remain as an advisor.
Bost has over 20 years of experience in health from Celgene, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and Quartet Health before joining 54gene.

Temi Awogboro, Founding Partner of Alcent Capital will serve as an advisor and Board of Directors observer.
54gene was founded in 2019 by Dr Abasi Ene-Obong to bridge racial gaps in genomics research data.
The company became popular during popular during the pandemic, but started withering waters after the pandemic by laying off staff as it struggles to stay afloat.
